Comparative Site Analysis
The Comparative Site Analysis evaluates a client's Web site and makes direct comparison to other competitive sites or industry best practices. Jupiter collaborates with the client to identify all sites for analysis as well as generate a customized set of criteria upon which each site will be evaluated. The results of this study provide actionable recommendations for improving the usability and design of the client’s Web site. In addition, the client is offered an objective review of its site relative to competitors or industry best practices, thereby offering Jupiter’s perspective on the client’s position in a specific market.
Methodology
A customized set of criteria will be developed based upon specific client goals. Criteria can include, but is not limited to such key issues as:
- Site Layout (Look and feel of Site, Site navigation, etc.)
- Content and messaging
- Functionality (Search, task facilitation, registration/log-in etc.)
- Customer Service
Jupiter will work with its client to generate a list of no more than 25 specific criteria to be included in the evaluation.
Deliverable
Site analyses are performed by JupiterResearch analysts who have years of Web site analysis experience. The process is as follows:
- Initial meeting with client to review needs and establish customized list of criteria and list of sites for evaluation (60 minutes)
- Analyst review (client site plus 3 additional sites: 3-4 weeks; client site plus 5 additional sites: 5-6 weeks)
- PowerPoint presentation of results, including screenshot analysis, key findings, specific Jupiter recommendations, introduction of relevant Jupiter survey or interview data: 20-50 slides depending on number of sites evaluated)
- Jupiter presentation of results (90 minutes - 2 hours)
